Schellenberg Wittmer advised HUGO Fund Services SA in their Joint Venture deal with ACOLIN Fund Services AG.

HUGO Fund Services SA, the well-established Swiss representative, and ACOLIN Fund Services AG, the specialist service provider in the distribution of UCITS, entered into a Joint Venture to reinforce their global fund distribution infrastructure management. The combination of their businesses will enhance the two companies’ positioning within the global fund distribution market and will create synergies allowing for full coverage of the retail and alternative investment fund universe.

The new Group formed will become one of the largest independent providers of fund representation services in Switzerland, working with over 1300 funds. Moreover, the new Group will be servicing over 500 asset managers worldwide, enabling these asset managers to gain access to proven and professional global fund distribution services throughout the European Union and Switzerland.

Schellenberg Wittmer acted as Swiss legal counsel to HUGO Fund Services SA. The team included Tarek Houdrouge (Partner, Banking/Finance and Corporate/M&A) and Vaïk Müller (Senior Associate, Banking/Finance).
